Default Reliable Parts suppliers for R1190

Anyone have any recommended parts suppliers for Their R1190's? I've looked at Mecaparts and found Franzose via Google search but are there others?

Neo Retro but they won't even attempt English. French Ebay, and Jaques (spelling?) in the USA, but you have to email him with your wants to see his current range. There are others for things like fabric etc. Rubber door seals are problematic some times even from France. Some R4/R16 things are the same such as ignition locks.

Neo Retro I’ve never had a problem with, and their stuff has passed the test of time well, same with Mecaparts. However what stuff are you looking for? As there would be a lot of parts that somewhere like French Connection (Airport West, Melvegas), or the old Ken @ Caravelle (in his new location – somewhere – out the back of Alpine Affaire?) will be able to supply. Rather than buying ones of things, try a slab of oil filters – depending on how long you are thinking of keeping the car. Also think of generic solutions where pieces d’origine is not important.

GBS are great, but I'd say it all depends on what is needed for a Renault 10.

Also, don’t forget that in a lot of cases depending on what you’re looking for that the R8 listing may have what you need. Very few have an R10 section.

I have bought a lot of parts from Melun Retro Passion and been happy with the service. Keep each total purchase below $1000 AUD including freight to avoid additional taxes. I have also bought through the other companies mentioned with no hassles.

Agree about Melun Rétro - they are prompt, helpful and not stupidly expensive. If something not available they write and say "do you want to wait and have it all at once, or do you want us to send what we have" . Delivery is quick and I've never felt ripped off or got bad stuff

Another one which has been good is bretagneautoretro.fr They seem to be quite quick on a couple of orders I've done with them. Never any problems ( yet )

    Best Wishes

Looking in particular for window seals and a working headlight dimmer. I've found Franzose do a kit for the belt seals on the doors but I'm yet to find a new switch. Will give a few of these suppliers a go though

The door seals should be common to R8.
By dimmer switch, if you mean the steering column stalk to switch between high, low and Parker’s etc I’d doubt any of the suppliers - certainly not the Oz ones would have those. It is basically a single unit incorporating the two arms; and two rocker switches (one hidden underneath) plus the wiring connector tabs. Hard to take apart and replace just one switch or stalk. Chasing a good working s/h one would be your best bet I would think. Again, they should be compatible enough with R8 that if one of the euro suppliers had one (or indeed French connection or others here) that it should work.

There are also Web Pieces Retro, Bretagne Auto Retro and Ichard. I've used Melun Retro for nearly 20 years, on and off, and Mecaparts. For odd things like those light switch components, I've not seen them often, but keep looking on www.ebay.fr.

My door seals came from Neo Retro if I recall, but Clarke Rubber would still probably come very close!

    Cheers

Imperial diamentioned door seals from Australia tend to be a bit big and it means you have to adjust the door out as far as possible and then slam the door. Window guides fit ok though.
