Default Renault Scenic, rear tail lights?

    Renault Scenic, rear tail lights?

Our 2001 Renault Scenic is due for a pink slip, lights failed.
What does the lowest panel of red do ?
Top brake light and parker work but the lowest panel light doesn't work, globe good .

Presume Fail Test was because the lower panel was not operating.
Will go in today and ask.

Is it something like a 21 watt single filament clear globe, in a red lens fitting? I'm thinking rear fog light. Perhaps they didn't have the knack to find how it works, or there is a poor/intermittent earth.

I have same body Scenic. Common problem is connections in rear lights. Have posted a thread previously with details. It is where the harness plugs into the light assembly, need to clean contacts in light assy and possibly bend tabs slightly for better contact. Usually causes warning light on dash when applying brakes.

Sorry, rushing to go out - look for prev thread - I will post further info later if you cant fix it.

Yes it is rear fog light from memory.

It is if I am correct the next position past the front fog lights that turns the rear fog on. Also another telltale light on the dash panel. There will be, low beam, front fog, which is green with a slash through the beam and an orange for the rear fog.

While you are working on the light panel for the rear lights. I found an couple of the LED beam lights excellent in the reversing light globes really gives great visibility for reversing. I had a long dark driveway down the side of my house and it helped immensly

Simon, so the fog lights are in the bottom red section?
