Default Searching for NOS or Rebuilt 330-25 transmission

Can anyone point me to a source for a new or rebuilt 330-25 transmission? Out of a Mexican built A110. The gearbox is shot, all bearings worn out, many gears stripped, crown gear retaining bolts have been welded!!! I need a rebuilt box or NOS or used that is in very good shape.

Wouldn't any old 330 transmission do? (Chase up an R10 one from the North American Renault club people?)

    cheers! Peter

Noting that you're in Canada, you might want to be in touch with a fellow AussieFrogger who lives there: ManicGT.

Wow, must have been abused big time.

PM me if you want to contact the Renault Owners Club of North America and I'll send you contact details.

The later versions of the 330 transmission were stronger in the differential, but any of them will do really, but those higher number versions are better. Keep any potentially useable parts from the old one, like the crownwheel carrier and the sun and planet gears, and the synchro hubs (the energizer springs can break and destroy the transmission, depending upon where the bits lodge, and they aren't easy to find as a spare part).

Web Pieces Retro in France could probably rebuild one for you - shipping can be found at reasonable prices in my experience from Australia.

    Cheers
