Do you think Aus will see it at $90,000 aud?

Will average 6' 5" people fit in it?

A standard Cayman Starts at AUD 110,300. The Alpine A110 should undercut that by some margin?

Old mate Sam (Seen through Glass) looks to be a quite tall man, and he liked it...............

    It's curious.
The journos seem to like the car (a lot) but seem reluctant to mention the Renault connection, making mention of that fact as an aside.
It must be killing them (car advice, I'm looking at you) to praise a French car.

This is so true. I consider myself pretty handy on 2 wheels and am the owner of a red Italian L-twin, but any well driven car will scorch a bike on a tight twisty road. I was enjoying a nice drive in my GTi6 a few years back and came up behind a pair of VTR's having a play. On the straights it was pretty close, but as they scraped around corners in front of me it was just too much and I had to overtake to clear them. Much faster with 4 grippy tyres around tight corners than 2 skinny ones.

The new A110 sounds very nice indeed !

It is no more a Renault than the original Alpines. It's built in the old Alpine factory building (their landlord is Renault) and like the original Alpine is a specialist chassis and body using a Renault engine.

Kim is right, and I would give the Renault PR people some gentle reminders that the Alpine factory
in Dieppe has always been the ALPINE factory.
Every time I have visited over the last 40 years, the sign on the building has been ALPINE.
Sure, they have assembled RS Clios and Meganes and low volume runs of Espace etc to keep the
factory open - a marriage of convenience.
On my last visit in July, the new A110 was in production, but the RS Clio production was about to be
halted because of delays in emission certification.
Alpine A110 production rates of up to 20 per day and a waiting list of 6,000 meaning an 18 month
wait for delivery, plus the inevitable prospect of new models to bolster the Alpine brand into more
than a single model range virtually guarantees the ALPINE signage will remain.
Don't get me wrong. I love my Renaults. Renault may be the landlord and master, but Alpine is
    something truly special.

A heads up for people north of Victoria. Seven new Alpine A110s are on their way to Sydney. All sold. New Alpine to be launched at the Classic Throttle Shop next week. Renault are picking up my 1969 A110 for display at the venue to show people where the new one got its DNA from.

When you say all sold, these 7 sold or the entire first batch has been sold?

The 7 on the truck are sold. Not sure how many of the first batch of 40 are sold but at autoclassica 32 had been sold and I am guessing that number has increased since. Will find out and let you and fellow aussiefroggers know.

Why would you need anything else

I like to think that truck is but one order, and someone is going to have them positioned in various homes up and down the coast just to be sure they are always near one
