Guys..... R8 Gordini 1300, R1135. Unless it is a Franken-R8, done very well.

Beautifully made video and nice story too.

I think a "clone" myself, as they will always show you the twin Webers if they are there. Somewhere else on the sight is a collection of pictures for the car, and no engine pictures, ?????

It does mention in the video his dad had an 8G which he crashed and then transplanted the 8G bits in an R8.

Should have finished my comment. I do like well built and good looking cars, and am not anti "clones". So this car falls into this slot. It drives well and looks good, so well done and keep building and driving !!!

I thought I spied the Gordini airbox when he is filling it with petrol? - but still could be bits transplanted of course.

I'm with you. The only under the hood shot is around 2:58. In the first part there is a green object thats visible (first screen shot) but in the second screen shot it appears that that's where the fuel goes , other than that, not much else that I could identify.

I've not seen the video, but that is a 5 Alpine motor in there. So, potentially, better than 8G performance.

I think fivedoor may be correct also. What I thought was the airbox at a quick glance, was probably the petrol filler.
He obviously didn't want to show the engine on camera.

Must be a really crook engine bay if he does'nt want to show it. The engine sound could be from something else, edited in later.

We've been to more than one French Renault event. Cultures vary, and by no means all folk there display engine bays at big shows. In fact, I'd suggest most do not. I doubt, personally, that he's hiding anything.

Not to worry anyway, it is a lovely video!

A current Oz Gordini owner I know lived overseas for a few years. He once told me most of the Gordini's he saw at shows etc were running Alpine R5 engines.
