    Default R8 project

It's been a while since I gave an update on the R8 project. The Alpine motor is all but finished, just need to install it in the car where it belongs then I can get on with the carbs and extractors. If anyone has a set of bellhousing/engine side braces spare I'd be interested. The motor has been a longer project than expected. The duplex chain took a while. Thanks to Ray (Gekoeng) for his advice. Finally managed to find a cover in the uk so it's all sorted now. Getting there,it's only been 7 years!R8 project-img_2743.jpg

You don't mention what gbox you are using but I guess a R10 with matching bellhousing.
if so the standard R10 side braces will need to be slightly modified to fit as the holes in the R5 block that the plates are not the same as the Sierra block. I know as I had to modify mine. It will involve some heating, bending and redrilling of some holes.
i will try and take some pics over the week if you are interested.

Thanks Angelo, my block is a Sierra 1.4. It has the Alpine head e.t.c. The box is one of Rob Sealey's R10/16 conversions.
