    Default Renault Sport Megane 265 Cup . . .

    Dear Brethren,

I recently hired one for a week when in Perth.
Built at the Renault Formula 1 factory in Dieppe, France.

My brother: Bob, referred to the RS Megane, as a car stating, “Don’t mess with me . . .”

Took the RS Megane, to Toodjay, Northam and York, then back to Perth. Sat on 1xx kph most of the time; nobody passed me; and one time I looked at the speedo and it read 1xx kph. Didn’t feel like it – like a train on tracks.

    Fulfilled a motoring dream.

Pic of it's lovely bum as I passed snails at great speed.

I'm currently doing the same thing, hired the Megane RS from Hertz for a week in Queensland. Found some nice roads around mount glorious, and hopefully the tambourine mountains overt the next few days.

Apart from the super wide rims which just beg to be gutter rashes when anywhere near a curb, the car is super awesome.

Pity it can't tow the rally car

Unfortunately not, standard fabric seats with RS embossed, but still very comfortable and supportive. Also found out what the sport mode does, made the mountain roads even better. Missus was not so happy.

Too busy driving to get any decent shots, but it was an awesome car and apart from being slugged $11 a day for tolls, and $23 a day to reduce the premium (my fault for not getting insurance cover) would happy hire one next time.

Sport mode gives you the full monty 265 - otherwise it's a 250 by default on startup.

Hertz is the place to hire from. I always used sport mode.

    Great value for a week.
