    Default Laguna II Power Windows

    Hi all,

Has anyone else come across the problem where the power windows will only move a small amount at a time? To get the window down or up I need to continually press and release the switch to get it up or down in small steps. It just moves a bit and stops when you press the button.

I imagine there's a setting or an over current threshold that needs resetting I'm just hoping someone else has been there before and can save me some time.

It's common to have to reset the windows and it's described in the manual. Usually after changing a window motor, or if the power has been disconnected?
I think you lower it down, then all the way, up and hold the up button on (once window closed) for 5 secs or similar.

Something like that. We've had once to reprogramme the Scenic and have had no issues since.

If that doesn't work, the dealer will surely know the exact procedure - it's a quick and simple fix.

Lower the window until it is at nadir. Once there hold the power window button down for 20 seconds then release.

Next raise the window until it is at the zenith. Once there hold the power window button down for 20 seconds then release.

That should fix the issue. You are telling the mechanism where the top and bottom stops are. Before you do that, it just guesses, resulting in the small graduated steps.

You need to do this for every window and every switch.

Thanks guys, I sent the first response to my partner (I was at work) and she fixed it. Pretty sure she just did the drivers window and they all work properly now. That was one I'd never heard of or experienced before.

Yes, I've had the battery disconnected a couple of times for various jobs. Now I know how to fix it.

    Thanks again!
