I wouldn't cut up the bracket that you already have. Just get some 1.6mm sheet metal and bend up a bracket similar to the 365 brackets and weld together, if done right you could make them look pretty close to what the factory did and no one will notice the difference.

Here are some photos of the 365 mounting brackets. Apologies for the dodgy photos, I'm currently renovating and there is no power to the shed! Had to rely on the flash.

    Thanks Jensen. Appreciate it!
It looks like those mounts would be easy to make up. But where would I find the rubber silencers and the cover plates. They are a two piece!
Are there any Renault's silencers that are similar. Two bolts to the side of chassis frame and a 90 degree peg with one bolt hole to the mount on the box. Seems the easiest way.

Another question: are all the boxes main bodies of the 352, 365 & 395, not counting the end cover or bell housings, the same length?
I have just measured the 395 box and it is 385mm approx. I'm sure they are as they share similar parts internal. I'm just thinking about where the 365 box has it's mounts. It would be no didfferent for this 395 box? if I could get some silencers then it's just a matter of copying those mounts with some sizes from someone.....

No worries. I'll measure the box when I'm back at the house tomorrow night.

Yes I think R20 engine mounts work if you grind off a bit of the bracket. Like these https://m.motor-doctor.co.uk/product...ngine-mounting

Otherwise pretty sure mecaparts sell new gearbox mounts.

I checked out both sites but nothing available.
So now I'm after some silencer blocks for the r17 ts.
Anyone know of a website I can shop for these??

This was under A310 1600 (which also uses the 365 gearbox). The mount has two holes rather than one but if you are fabricating the brackets to attach it to the gearbox casing, that shouldn't present a problem.

Jensen. Your right. They will do the job. do they also have the cover bracket on that site?
Would you mind measuring the mounts on your gearbox in detail.
Sorry but I can't get this info anywhere else, that I know of.

John you could fabricate the cover bracket from some sheet metal or if you are lucky a bit of SHS or RHS of the right size. All it does is stops the gearbox from fall onto the road if the rubber mounts fail.

Yep, thanks Col. Great idea! This is possible and maybe the way to go.
Ray (Geckoeng) and I have been talking about it just tonight. I understand the complete setup now. I think this is the way to go. Ray even mentioned a steel section beneath the box from one side to the other to help if a mount breaks.
    Thank you

Just found this. Thought I would add the original part numbers page for the gearbox mounts - 365 box for the R17. Future reference.

The part listed is actually for the A 310/6. The 310/4 doesn't have a mount on the side of the gearbox, it has a mount on the end cover and being bolted to the engine takes care of the other end. The mount is the same as the A110 1600 s

    Hi Shoji,

Sorry only just got a chance to measure up the brackets and take some photos. My verniers are in a box somewhere so had to use a tape measure and mark up on my phone! Hopefully it's enough detail to rough up the mounts and test fit before drilling the holes.

Thanks Jensen for taking the time. I really appreciate it wholeheartedly!
This a great help. I can now plan to make the mounts later down the road.
Next to look at is the gear shift linkages......
Anybody have images of their setups?

Has anyone have a workshop diagram/picture of the complete gear linkage for a R17 with a 395 box? Including gearshift

Or better still, a picture of their car with complete linkage setup (later model I think)
The 395 box has a different setup to the 365 and my 352
As mentioned before, the r18 setup fits but i'm interested in how the r17 setup is with these boxes and maybe replicate.
The link with silencers are the same. That's a good start. The shaft on this box is longer by 75mm
