And Wipac ignition? I vaguely recall my old Latvian mechanic friend having one of the things back in the 1960s.

I imagine they were quite expensive in the day....

I've never been into personalized plates but when looking at the DoT WA, I couldn't resist.
Oh and another pic just for Robmac.

That orange back bumper looks so much better than the dowdy grey. Would love to see your 17 in the flesh. High beam must chew some power.

Dropped into Gekoeng this morning on the way back to Mandurah from Perth today. More progress on the Hot French Donk. (yeah, we'll go with that!?) Block all cleaned and painted outside. Ray will be adding extra crankcase breather pipes to a catch can.
Head is about to be ported up to 3mm larger and matched to the inlets. Power tool of choice for this is a large industrial dremel on steroids coupled with a tungsten carbide porting tool. Inlet manifolds also needs some extra porting to match the head. More porting near each valve seats to remove some of the humps for better flow and elimination of turbulence. I think....
Sore arms for Ray though after this.

And I did. It's looking good. Chunky crankshafts for a 1500 cc engine!

A very funny coincidence came out of the discussion. Ray had the previous day dropped into Harris Engineering, an engine workshop about ten minutes from our place, only to find a Dauphine head on the counter. He must have been ten minutes behind me dropping that precise head in for an overhaul plus conrods for new bushes, reaming and alignment. Small world, as Dauphine heads are not that common on workshop counters!
