I'm having difficulty trying to understand your problem. There are no common reverse problems with petrol or diesel Koleos that I know of.
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

    ^^I'm guessing an automatic Rob - "When I put on R reverse. . ."

changdangnz, make sure the vehicle is at a complete standstill with your foot on the brake pedal before selecting R reverse.

    Cheers

    ^^

I should have made it clear aircon clutch

I'm already on top of the fact that's it an Auto trans, as indeed are most Koleos.

My initial thought. However I decided to be helpful. And take the request for info in good faith.

    Doubtless, time will tell.

I reckon the problem is your air conditioner .
Try not using ac and problem might go away
