    Default Renault 4 cv joints

Hi all. I have a Renault 1963 three speed. The passenger side cv joint has had it. I'm wondering does anyone know a company who reconditions these drive shafts or sells new ones in Australia, hopefully Victoria. Thanks fazza

If you get in touch with the 4CV Register then you should be able to secure a good second-hand one from someone.

    cheers! Peter

    Fazza,
I presume you have a Renault 4L and its has a problem drive shaft.

There would be a number of used drive shafts available, and I think the only place you will get new is Europe, some of the retro spares outlets. You will need to give them vehicle model numbers, from the "diamond"and "oval" plated on the firewall in the engine compartment.

Thanks for the responses I've spent all week on net searching. I often look up this Renault 4 website / forum site in U.K. They all spoke of a Machanic shop in U.K. Called Renault speed. He specialised in Renault 4s. He told me to find some one to rebuild it. First place I saw rebuilt each shaft for $200 each. He also said he will re build rack and pinion. Going to put shafts in tomorrow then a drive. Go go Reno

Ray's quite right, I didn't read the original post closely. Not a 4CV at all but its replacement, the R4. The point stands though. Why not trawl around (in a new thread with a correct subject title) for a good second hand one?

    cheers! Peter

My brother would have dozens of them and he's in Werribee so not far away. Send me a PM and I'll give you his number. He can also tell you about the 4cv register, well worth you joining.

No he wouldn't because we speak of an R4, not a 4CV. I repeat that the thread would work better if it was retitled or, as that isn't possible, replaced by another thread.

To Fazza: I know that the '4' & the 'CV' are separated by a space but it's still pointlessly inviting confusion. Try: 'R4 constant velocity joints'
