    Default Renault Kwid

The Renault Kwid, made in India is their greatest sucess in this growing market. They sold 130,000 of them since they launched it Sept 2015. The starting price is 4.3 lakhs which makes it one of the cheapest cars on the Indian market. That is $8,600 in $A. Apparently, they are considering making it in Brazil. As it is RHD from inception, it will be Renault's small car offering world wide to RHD markets.

    Hi Gerry

It doesn't look as 'budget' as I'd expected - even has cruise control! Do you have info on where/how Renault is making the savings?

    Cheers

Indian English is becoming a separate dialect - the intended audience will have no trouble...

Most of the labour intensive parts are sourced in India where costs are still well below European.

India must by now be the largest English speaking nation on the planet, certainly the largest democracy now that the USA has left the fold.

What, left the fold as a democracy (i.e. the Trump effect), or left the fold as an English speaking nation. (Spanish is more widely spoken than English there now)?

Anyway, am I imagining it but is the steering wheel flat on the bottom?

as a democracy. Yes I believe the wheel is flat at the bottom especially designed for pregnant drivers who drive straight to the .shops and back. It being India they are valet parked on arrival.

A new Renault? If I had a Kwid for every time I heard that (groan, someone had to type it ...)
    Once upon a time:

    Many R4s (incl. fourgonnette), R5LS, R16TS.

GS 1015, 1220, sedans and wagons.
    CX 2200, 2400.
    ID 1966, 1969, DS21H, DSpecial, DS23 Pallas.
    C5 2002, 2004 petrol and diesel.
sold ..... D Special 1974 ... to fellow Tassie AFer.
sold ..... Xantia Activa 1998 (look out Gulargambone)
sold .....GS 5 speed sedan (what a tale)
    sold .... 1986 2CV6

    And now:

    C5 2.2 HDI 2005 wagon
    CX25GTi 1985 auto
    CX2500 IE Pallas 1985 auto
    DS23 1973 Pallas
    DS23EFI 1975 Pallas
