    Default NZ Annual Concourse show.

    Hi All,

Yesterday was NZ's big official show for the year. Renault is so small here that we normally have 5 or 6 cars on display and we ignore there "theme" as well because we can't really pick and choose to fall in with that.

So here is a selection that was present yesterday and it included the Matra as a "work in progress" display. For you to browse.

Good old Ellerslie race course Concourses, the Renault stand would have as many cars as Fiat/Lancia have on their usual display of 3 or 4.if they are lucky.

Thanks for the pics Frans. The Matra makes everything else look almost ordinary, great project, so rare and progressing to such a high standard.

Thats a great display there Frans, the quality well and truly makes up for the lack of cars.

Well, you are not going to get me to disagree that the Matra is the pick of the bunch but each of the rest is rather nice too. Not really anything boring/ mainstream about any of them.

    cheers! Peter

I think this kind of display serves better a marque to make an impression than a lot of cars you can't tell apart from the rest. Then again, I'm all for quality too. Must be age.

What a great selection of "improved classics". Thanks. Only thing missing is a nice R10!

NZ Annual Concourse show.-floride.jpgHi, Question for you, the White Floride with the Red top, I think it used to be my car, I understand my car was sold by Gosford Museum to someone in NZ, would you be able to confirm.

    Roger,
I emailed the owner and he replied back with a "no" not yours. He bought his new in NZ.
That makes me wonder where the other one could be.

I saw in another AF post that a Caravelle/ Floride was burnt out in the recent Christchurch Port Hills bush fires!

Pretty sure that was a Caravelle, not a Floride though.

That puts him in a very special category of owners. It is nearly 60 years since the Floride was released and, what, 55 since the Caravelle replaced it, approximately? I guess he must like the car......

Frans, the Matra looks just great in the photo too. Nice story on the pistons too!

    Cheers
