Default you know its a renault when…..

Today, the air bag light came on..

Have not worked out how to turn on ignition without starting engine, so after running engine at idle…..

Go to open the bonnet to let some heat out and the bonnet puller thingy goes sproing and stops working….

Find a path of broken clips and bits of plastic indicating that I am not the first victim of this annoying issue.

Have to get even more tools out to try and re-engineer a solution to the stupid cable issue.

Go to shop to buy some more panel clips to replace the broken/missing ones…

    2 hours later…..What was I doing again….thats right, fixing the airbag light….

Fiddle with under seat plug, find a way to make the light go out……Sorted.

Clean up all the tools required to fix the other things that went wrong whilst trying to fix the airbag light.

Go for a hoon and have such fun that all the trouble seems worth it…..

Yep, this 225 megane of mine is definitely a pedigree renault.

Just hold the button down in a non-starting condition (ie in gear or foot not on clutch) - you'll hear it go click after 10 or 15 seconds.

    Thanks for that tip, haakon.
That sounds far better than starting it and dropping the clutch.
