    Default Dacia in Australia

    Dacia in Australia ...
well maybe not but by the UK PR shot you would think so...

    http://www.carsession.com/news/photo...nce-launch.jpg

Dacia brand is the fourth most appreciated brand in the UK, two years since launch Date: Thursday, 21 July 2016

Either it's real or pretty good photoshop... or Sydney is in the UK now, part of Australia returning to the UK market now Brexit will happen, maybe Dacia knows something we do not... ;-)

    Enjoy

The car on left and the middle car approximate the angle of the bridge behind, one less, the other bit more, but both car sides are in the shadow, yet the bridge brick work of the bridge is in the sun. I vote photoshop.

It's a photoshop, it has to be.

The cars are also LHD, however they look like a higher spec, with the colour coded bumpers and alloy wheels, which would be needed for the Australian market, where the UK market gets black bumpers and steel rims on their base models.

I know Renault Australia are really looking for big numbers from Megane and Koleos next year and also with the facelifted Clio and new Alaskan Ute, with the potential as well for the Grand Scenic, maybe Renault Australia are thinking it's time to move in on the lower price point of the market??

You'd have to ask yourself though, why have they put the bridge in the background??

    Interesting .....

They do have an almost identical bridge in Scotland. Even though I agree to it being Sydney perhaps they thought it would look like Scotland to the Brits??? Or they photo shopped the wrong bridge.

    Must have been recent.

With a Sydney harbour ferry in the centre left of the image and a fair representation of the Opera house right centre there is no doubt in my mind where the background is located and it ain't in Scotland..............

Kim didn't you read my reply. I said it was Sydney. Just that perhaps they photo shopped the wrong bridge.

I don't know.. Shadows look ok to me, and the rocks and pattern where they are parked line up with the lower walkway.. but it isn't that wide and deep.. the pattern of the rocks change as you get closer to the road and shops..

But maybe it's taken from back near the ferry terminal with a long telephoto lens?

Maybe they just photoshoped the down stage area.

Because upstairs the thickness of the lines are different,

Guess what, one of those photographic sites that sell photos for commercial use (Shutter Stock.com) has the Sydney Harbour bridge captioned as the "Forth Bridge Scotland. The big red bridge...." Unless you want to sign in you cannot view all the photos but wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't one of them.

The shadows under the cars look ok in themselves, but they are not consistent with the full sun on the bridge in the background.

Also check the sides of the left car and the center cars, which are not in full sun, but the bridge in the background is in full sun. The light source for the background has a different direction to the light source for the foreground objects

Loved the automated sales enquiry as I read it too. Had a bit of fun with it. See thread below:
    Gian:
Hello, welcome to Drive! In case you missed it.... Our team have exclusive comparison pricing for any car you're looking at. Which car are you looking at? Me: Duster 4 x 2. Any available?

    Gian:
    Hi!

    I'll be glad to help!
May I know who am I speaking with so that I can address you properly?

    Me: Bruce
Gian: Hello there Bruce! How are you today?
Me: Very well. Looking for a Dacia Duster. 4x2, petrol. What prices are available.
Gian: Let me clarify this first, are you after a new or used vehicle? Thank you.
    Me: New.
Gian: Excellent! Let me grab a couple of quick details so one of our specialist consultants can send over some information.
Me: What would you like in the way of details?
Gian: I will pass your details on & have the appropriate person contact you and give you further details about that vehicle that you are enquiring for.
By the way, is this the only vehicle you're currently considering?
Me: But what details would you like? Would like a Renault Quid to price against.
Gian: Perfect! And do you have a timeframe as to when you need to purchase?
    Me: ASAP
Gian: Fantastic! What is the best number to reach you on (with area code please) and the best time to contact you?
    Me: 04xx xxx xxx

Gian: Great, thanks! I appreciate that!
May I also ask for your email address?
    Me: bxxxx2xxxx.com
Gian: Can we have your postcode as well?
    Me: 3xxx
Gian: Thank you Bruce! We'll be happy to assist should you need finance. Is this something that you're interested in?
    Me: No
Gian: Not a problem! Feel free to send us a message in case you change your mind.
Me: Thanks - am cash buyer for the Dacia at a good price.
    Gian: Awesome!
All right Bruce! Confirming I have the correct details, your contact number is 04xx xxx xxx and [email protected] as your email address.
    Me: Correct. Many thanks Hal.
Gian: Is there anything else that you'd like to add before I send these over?
You're welcome Bruce, my pleasure to help.
Me: Have a good digital sleep HAL.
    Cheers Human

Even though I couldn't see a date, that article is pretty old.

In the article, they said Dacia would be badged as Renault's here, something Renault Australia have said won't happen and then there was the piece on SEAT, how they won't be making a comeback anytime soon. It was only last year that SEAT said they'd love to be back here by 2017 with their new SEAT Ateca SUV, based on the VW Tiguan SUV and the Golf based SEAT Leon, hatch and wagon.

I can't see the date in the article.

But it all seems funny. 2016 - two years after its launch in the UK? This was like, when? 2010? Earlier? So, that's more like 6 years.

And I don't understand who really wants an auto Duster and what for?
