    Default oz twizy

At one stage Renault had a Twizy in Australia. My memory is that they were even willing to assist in getting it registered were someone to wish to buy it.

Dos anyone know what happened to it?

I think it was here mainly as a promotional tool.

The Twizy can't be registered as a car or motorbike under current Australian Legistlation.

Europe has a seperate quadracycle category for vehicles such as the Twizy.

I think there are restrictions on where they can be used, but for a ZE inner city commuter runabout/delivery vehicle, they are ideal.

It was on display at Renault OZ HQ for a while. It may still be there.

Hi there - it is still at Renault HQ. (Saw it the other day during the RCCV meeting there). It is trotted out by Renault to car days and demos - which they seem very happy to do, so just ask if you have one coming up.
However, to confirm what mistareno says above: it cannot be used on the roads in Australia as it is a 'quadracycle' and does not/cannot meet the car or motorcycle reqs for rego. (Unlike Europe, we have either car rego or motorcycle rego - no quadracycle category).
    Cheers

Actually saw it at the GDofFC i n Brisbane today. As was the all electric Fluence. Apparently they are normally used to train technical staff on in Melbourne, so they said.

My recollection was that the Twizy that Renault Australia brought in was also to be used to assist with their campaign to get our vehicle registration bureaucrats to consider modifying the rules. I took a Twizy for a test drive in Spain 18mths ago, awesome experience !. For it's intended niche purpose , what a clever design!

perhaps the rccv would be kind enough to seek the twizy's presence at the french car festival later this year

    cheers! peter
