    Default anyone killed an F4r

I'm wondering if anyone has killed one of these renault motors?
Mine has over 250k km on it, and the last 50k km have been hard duty, accelerating the heavy rx4 as rapidly as possible (note…not very rapidly at all).
Noticed a slight lower end taping the other day to add to the top end chattering.

Thinking it might not be long now before I need a louder stereo.

The Scenics are an F4R aren't they?
    (Twin cam with dephaser)
There are usually plenty of second hand motors around from all the Scenics with dud gearboxes.

    Oops…Title edited,

I actually have a spare RX4 with decent motor and box…..But I'm too lazy at this stage to think about an engine change.

The Laguna L7 engine rattle when cold is also noisy but with over 312 thousand kilometres on it, is that worth worrying about - louder radio does help Jo....

Number plate changes are faster and easier.

The old Laguna 1 had a F3R in it. Equally as hard to kill as the F4R

Am hoping the H4Bt is as hard to kill as every other Reno engine!!

But the spare only has power steering in one direction and not the other, and the AC has a hole in it.

I suspect the cam timing is a bit out on my car's engine because the spare's engine pulls heaps harder at lower revs.
