Default 2010 petrol Koleos - no timing belt?

Hi all - just wanting to check in with all the Koleos owners out there: it appears to me that the petrol Koleos has a chain, not a timing belt. Is this correct? (Am thinking of getting one and was curious if I need to check if the timing belt has recently been done - but on searching, there is no timing belt listed in the service schedule!).

    Many thanks
    Bryce

Interesting - I had always thought they had a derivative of the F4R motor - seems not.

Since they have the XTrail drivetrain it's technically a Nissan underneath - hence the chain instead of a belt.

The Koleos runs the 2.5 litre Nissan engine, the QR25DE.

It definitely has a steel timing CHAIN.

    They're a good thing.

Hi Dave - many thanks for that! Appreciate the replies.
Sounds like they are a pretty robust bus. Might start a different post on what, if anything, to look for in an early petrol 2WD one. (Although from the sound of it, will probably be a very short thread!)

    Cheers

Note there is a sub-forum for Koleos specific stuff, see at the top of the Renault forum page.

Don't buy a Koleos Bryce there terrible.

We bought one to wreck, paid a lot of money for it as it's only done 65,000 kms. What a waste of money, no one buys anything off it. It's the 2.5 petrol engine and it would seem nothing goes wrong with them. It just sits in the corner watching the grass grow.

We've had it about 4 months and sold 1 part so do me a favor and buy a 308 or 307, or C5 that'll make me happy, something that can keep us wreckers in business.
Geez imagine stocking a yard with Koleos, Lattitude, Fluence. What a quick way to go broke.

Love your tongue-in-cheek post David. What year model is your wrecked Koleos? I have a 2014 model where the air-con condenser that sits in front of the radiator has suffered a few nasty stone hits - unavoidable because of its totally unprotected position. Do you have an undamaged one?

Ours is 2009 and I'm still learning about them and being such a slow mover I fear it'll be a long learning curve, I'll have to have a look see where the condenser sits.
