It is for euro cars to select the parkers to illuminate on either the right or the left. I'm surprised Renault didn't exclude it when building them here to cut costs.

Switch or a button? The description in the second post is for the switch.
    Not used in Oz.

I think the Oz R8/10 has those though don't they. I seem to recall the R8 and R10's I've owned each having two horns.

    Hi,

My understanding is that the switch was used on European models to turn on the parking lights on the left or right side of the vehicle. On my Renault 10, I installed some tiny 12 v globes within the side indicator lens, connected them to power through this switch and used these as parking lights.

    Regards

    David

The horn/indicator wand had two positions, a light push would operate one horn, a harder one would operate both on early tens. The switch under the column was for the Euro parkers, L & R, not used here.
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

I use that little rocker switch one way to operate the reversing lamp that I fitted in about 1975, and the other way to turn on the radio. It would make a good thief-proof device.
