Can't quite make out all the faces. Does this mean Chopper Bob's car is finally going?

The R8 folk in Adelaide are really getting their act together! And that is without Simon’s yellow R8G, and without my mother’s old one in Clare.

If you factor this up for Australia, allowing that we have about 7 in Perth (most Gordinis), I’m thinking there might be 30-40 R8 examples in Australia. And it might be 50 allowing for sheds…. That’s quite a number!

    Quite charming.

    Cheers

    Say John.

Would it be possible do you think to make History and assemble the 50 R8 somewhere in Australia, what a dream !!

Nope Don't want to go there, which is why I drive a modern car with front and side airbags, high strength steel in the A-pillar and crumple zones.

    Good picture!!

Yes, of course. However, that's what we hoped might happen at the Junee Muster in 2013 for the 50th anniversary. You've just done better in Adelaide alone!

No John, we beat that in Junee (at the temora airport), it's just that the other R8's (2 at least were Gordini's) were present for the Temora portion; and didn't come to the house visit back in Junee. You'll have to go back and count them in your photos from the driveway at Temora!

Still, it is a good effort for Adelaide without doubt!

You're quite right! I'd forgotten that.

But, as you say, special for Adelaide. We have more Gordinis than non-Gordinis over here - who'd ever have thought it!

Yes, but ours was a national round up!
But I'll concede that Adelaide is indeed the R8 capital of Australia, how's that?

I think the WA car owned by JW should count as 3 because of the vast distance travelled and sparseness of the west, kinda like a QLD gerrymander if you like.

    Hi KB.
Thank you for conceding. Yes, it's the best living in a State where on any day you can see a R8.
You know, the way things are shaping up it is possible that we will have 2 more on the road soon and maybe a couple of others around Adelaide might just feel the call to join up and come for the NEXT Australia Day R8 picnic possibly at Walker Flat with the Murray Mallee Car Club.
    Cheers guys

Finally John. It only took 4 years. There is still plenty to do but at least it is on the road thanks to help from most of the R8 owners in SA.Hands up if you want to go to HEAVEN-c52bdafa-1201-4f6a-aefc-f5da750d84ad.jpg
