    Default thankyou

G'day Froggers, a big thankyou to Haakon for putting me in touch with Ken from Caravelle imports. I have spoken to Ken a couple of times. He is very friendly and helpful. He has supplied me with a timing belt, tensioner and bearing. I managed to put the coil/strut back together yesterday. What a fidgety job that was. A friend of mine says he can weld the suspension tower back together for me. While everything is apart I am going to change the fan and timing belts. I first need to have the tower repaired so that I avoid any swarf or metal filings damaging the new belts. I'll keep you updated on my progress. Yours Sincerely Shane.

To me this kind of thing is the heart of this Forum. People with a common interest, and wealth of experience helping one another. Let see a continuation of this - and less of the ad hominem slanging matches which rage with too much regularity in other parts of AF. How about it guys?

Help, advice, laughs and the kindness of the people helping people!
Without the site we would not be driving our old renaults, pugs, etc. around and enjoying it.
They might have been on the scrapper.

I suspect he's feeling his way into it at present, but don't know. This Caravelle change business has happened over a fairly short time. I might ring him up next week and ask whether he's acquired the old stock of stuff the new owners aren't interested in.
