Seems to have appreciated in value since the previous owner sold it.

With a bit of hand brushed silver action on the tyre walls there's no doubt it would be worth every penny..

Has this guy been talking to our friend in VIC with the $12,000 R12.
    It is a nice car but it's a 12TL not a 12G so $7600 is very ambitious.
But a car is worth whatever the punters are prepared to pay and if he get's the $7600 go on him.

The seats are standard early R12 (pre-tombstone and post-headrest) and they might be the same as the Aussie assembled R16's from the same time (72, 73 ish). They are pretty thick so do cut down the rear legroom.
The tombstone seats are thinner so give a couple of inches of extra legroom.
Personally, I think the tombstone seats (before the see-through headrest) we one of the best looking seats out of all the Renaults seats.

    Cheers

That may be so but they look like they were replaced with 16 seats. The type of material and colour is slightly different to the rear bench seat. They look very comfortable though.

I don't think so J-Man. When Barry owned it (RCCA Member as indicated by the sticker and numberplate frame), he lived in suburban Sydney (around the Wentworthville/Northmead area I believe) then moved up the coast. The block of land and Garage pictured in the background of the photos looks too large for there, and indicates elsewhere. I didn't check where the location of the current sale is, but that may be a clue.

Fair enough KB, I just recall I nice white R12 wagon for sale, shown parked against a shed. It all looked very familiar. My memory is getting a bit dodgy these days though and that combined with an over active imagination could have dream't it all up
    cheers,

    John

You may still be right JMan, just my local knowledge of that area doesn't place any large properties similar to the photo, but neither does Dulwhich hill where the new seller's location indicates.

I tried to search for the old thread but the current search panel doesn't seem as sophiscated as it used to?

Just yesterday I saw a very nice white R12 wagon parked on Alfred Street North, Neutral Bay. Not there today.

I wonder if it was this car? It was nice enough for me to determine to stop and have a look at it today if it was still there (which it wasn't...).
