    Default R10 Shroud

Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the shroud around the speedometer on the dash of the Standard R10. Not sure how it is secured and do not want to break it.
    Help

As far as I recall, if you are talking about the rubber bit, for a RHD car first undo the two self tappers, one in the obvious position and the other hidden beside the ashtray. Then push/slide the rubber shroud about 2 cm to the left to release the tangs on the back that locate it on the metal dash.

The flat piece with the wood grain is usually glued in and likely to be dried up and no adhesion after 40 plus years and can be carefully lifted off without bending it.

I have no doubt there will be others here who will have more detail and a few pics or illustrations.

    Hope this helps

Thanks but not the rubber bit, know all about that fella, its the black plastic surround sits on the fake wooden dash. I am reluctant to tug on it in case it breaks. Any ideas?

For a moment there, I thought you were going to bury it.

I've no idea I'm afraid, the R8 having two exposed screws. Good that you are putting spare time to good use though. Double

OK that part has a nut on the back on each end that requires a 7mm spanner/socket etc.

    Good luck.

Do you want to buy a wheel like that? I've got one in Perth, not with that centre though. Make an offer! It's a 10S wheel I guess, 8S if you were in Europe.

    Cheers
