    Default Nolathane Suspension R12/15/17

So a couple of vague threads here tell me some of you have have luck with some of these?

    I went into a supplier and they said no, so I contacted them directly and they still said no;

    Hi Daniel,

Iím sorry but we cannot supply any bushes for the Renault 12. It is not a vehicle that we have ever manufactured.
    Apologies.

    Jamie Comyns
    And then after indicating that I was directed here from others that have had a bit of luck.. ;

Yes I am sure you have. This happens a lot but the references rarely tend to match up. A lot of people will speculate these types of comments for person like yourself, having a Renault 12, and the person referring you will have a Ford Falcon.

We can always try but Renaults have always been very unique with their designs and sizes. I would not be confident for any major control arm style bushes but we may have some luck on things like swaybar links etc.

Send through what you can work out.

Alternately, you may have to try the UK or some other European manufacturers.

So the next step is to measure everything and email him back. But perhaps someone has already done this and worked out the part numbers from differing cars...? *looks up hopefully*

I'd enjoy replacing all the rubbers If I can work it out..

Really? I posted numbers on here a few months ago for control arm bushes available at bursons. They were from a catalogue, that referenced them as fitting a 12, they arrived in 2 days, and fitted straight in.

    you mean this?

    R12/17 suspension bushes and balljoints

Sorry. Hadn't seen your reply asking fr numbers. As follows.
    shocker lower bushes; spf1056k
lower wishbone (same as rear); spf1055k
    upper control arm; spf1054k
all numbers are super pro suspension bushes parts, and are available at bursons.
For castor bar ushers I used nolethane 49006 from autobarn (had to use original crush bars and grind down a lot)
As for how it drove, in the car I used them on,it made a big improvment. It's on a lowered stiff car and these made it feel a whole lot tighter.
So they weren't Nolethane, hence why that dude was like WTF, but good to know this place exists.

So did others. If Nolathane is not necessarily the only company desired, I have Powerflex (or some of the other names they go under) numbers for all the bushes you need. I even found some at Supershit and similar some time ago (Bursons seem double the price for just about everything at least here, in the wild west).

I did have to machine a bit the shoulders on the top strut bushes on the front - these were for some other car/purpose.

Roll bar links can use any generic bush that fits the inner diameter, there's a zillion to choose from.

And just remembered, I didn't replace the control arm bushes on the rear so can't help with that.

    PS. Sorry, it is Superpro:

    Lower wishbone:

Can't find the others off the top of my head, have to dig out the packaging.

PPS. I see you got it. Let me know if you need the rest.

Well yes it's just the rear training arm I need to pass rego, that and a steering universal joint bush.

But thanks for confirming those links and numbers above.

Super Pro is Fulcrum Suspensions in Brisbane. They manufacture their bushes in house. For various other bushes although not listed, if you can give dimensions it may be possible that something from another car in their range of bushes will fit.

So I best rip them out and measure away.

The rear arms come with bushes and are quite common and pretty cheap (they were a throw away item). You might even be able to find a pair in Oz.

Keep in mind, these are there to help the car's handling with a little bit of passive steering, and fitting stiffer poly bushes might take that away.

Stick with Renault rubber bushes - I tried lower wishbone inners, but they just hammered themselves out of position. Total shyte on my rally 12.

    Cheers, Fred.

How did they come out? Seems pretty difficult unless inserted the wrong way around.

Aren't the genuine items "silentbloc" bushes, working with the rubber in torsion and the securing pin tight inside the inner metal bush, not a device that rotates on a bush? If you fit sliding/rotating stuff instead, not lubricated, won't it die?

These will fit our 12's right? Or were there locally delivered differences? :S Simon?
