    Default R12/15/17 Sway Bars

Sorry to be spamming you lot like a keen honeymooner.

    Fulcrum "fulcrumsuspensions.com.au"

..are interested in quoting some larger sway bars for my R12.

In order to quote they are just after some pictures of what the bars generally look like. To save me puling mine out does anyone have an image of the bars perchance?? :S

I got an idea for you. Find out what the spring rates are for front and rear, then double them. This will be a good start. Drive the car, THEN see if you need thicker sway bars.

I had a 25mm rear bar made for my 12 (I already had the 17G front bar) by Signature Swaybars in Nowra.
They should have a master in stock now and it was about $250, but I had it made in the R12 "clamp in" style and not the R17G "bolt in" style.

    Perfect! Many thanks!

And yes K-mac in Sydney have quoted $245 already. They have a template to work from it seems. Fulcrum do not. I'll let you know what they say.

If you're looking for an idea of the shape, the picture there shows 2 front bars. The rear shape is different and has 90 degree bends and instead of eyelets to bolt to drop links has holes horizontally through or just clamps on to trailing arms.

Ah! Shape is what they are after. I can see the shadow now on the top bar that mimics the bottom one. Opps.

Another reply from K-mac whom also quoted.. ($245 each end in case you missed it) they are't fond of this 26mm standard Gordini suspension idea..

    Hi Dan,

At 26mm would be like driving a Go Kart no suspension!

Recall Peter Brock track testing Commodore (with twice the arm leverage) anything over 27mm and just plough under-steered!

    Best regards,
    Kevin

Is standard gordini 26mm? I thought they were 24 on the front, and I can't remember but around 20 on the back?
