Default Dauphine G on Carsales in Adelaide

My handy email alerts notified me of a Dauphine Gordini for sale yesterday. When I saw the colour, condition, price and the fact it was in Adelaide, I couldn't believe my luck. I was finally going to have another Dauphine! I emailed the guy yesterday and he responded with "I'm surprised how much interest is in this ". It all sounded too good to be true, so I asked to look at it today. All good until I got another email notification that it had sold already! Nooooooo

Was anyone on here lucky enough to snap it up? I promise I won't hate you .... much

    t'wasn't me
Every day when I wake up I reach up in the darkness with my eyes shut and if I cannot feel anything that resembles a wooden lid I know it will be a good day. No lid today.

That one is the ex-Clem Minge Dauphine Gordini, last advertised circa 2001 for circa $7K near Gawler. Also it appears in one of the old Australian Sports and Classic Car magazines.

I wondered if it may have been Clem's car. Doh! Double cry.

What was the asking on this one? Just wonder if the Plastic Bottle Shop in Sydney snapped it up, given how they shifted their last nice Dauphine G on so quickly.

It was $4500 with the engine out of the car (spun a bearing apparently). I thought the price was as good as you can get these days for one that's unrestored and still good.

Sounds very reasonable, especially given that it was likely a very good body. I'm guessing it would have deteriorated very little from when I last saw it. No wonder it was snapped up!

It even still had the chrome on the interior door handles!
    cheers,
