Default My next Renault (5 Gordini!)

A few months ago, before my trip to Europe (more on that later) I had a phone call from a long time 5G owner who had decided to relinquish his hold on a very original 5G. A few questions, and was mine, sight unseen.
Well, it is hugely better than I imagined. A trio of very tiny rust repairs needed, one in the driver's door, one on the tailgate, and one on the bonnet. Sills and floors have all been very professionally done long time back and exceptionally sound. It also has the Flair roof spoiler, non original, but it really looks good IMHO.My next Renault (5 Gordini!)-pc170206.jpg
The other thing was that I had to take all the spares. 3 station wagons full! Lights, seats, lots of NEW stuff, extra wheels (it is sitting on a refurbished set of Flair wheels and they look exceptional) the extras are what I call "computer" wheels, new grilles, enough tail lights to supply the world for the foreseeable future, etc, etc. Stocktaking will take time. I am unsure how many "deep" front bumpers I have!
There are enough large size posters and photos of the turbo era F1 (proper time not the Mickey mouse current ones) to wallpaper my whole house (almost). Amongst the file boxes are all the Group 2 homologation papers, and letters relating from all over the world.
As these are now so rare, it seems that I should keep it as original as possible rather than upgrade too much. Sure, it does need painting, but currently has the factory paint, yes crazed and all, but!

Here is another R5, a bargain at half the price? I wonder what compliance would cost?

This car may have already made its way to Brisbane from Japan. A very similar car arrived a few months ago, looking quite pretty, but needing some work. I think the importer of the R5 T2 is looking to flip it for $60K+ AUD. Being now 30 years old, it could stay LHD, and compliancing is fairly simple.

Yep, that car is in Brisbane now but listed on cars and classics U.K for 50K + so if you can pick it up here for $60k you've done well ( with current exchange rates considered) that is! Although 60K can get you a very nice car these days!
