    Default R8 - R10 Brake pads

Hi Guys. Just wondering if anybody out there has knowledge on the best brand of R8/R10 Disc Brake pads to use. I'm after the softest, shortest wearing Brake Pads for my Caravelle and R8.

My thinking is Softest pad, best braking and naturally shortest wearing.

    Any replies greatly appreciated.

    Cheers Phil

Provided that you don't make repeated (mountain descent type) stops, I think that you're right to choose a soft pad. The major occasion that you really want your brakes working for you is the emergency stop & that's when the softer pad works best.

I've just used whatever my mechanic got from Ken at Caravelle in Melbourne for my R8 & 4CVG & have had no complaints when emergency avoiding the occasional errant possum or wombat (wallabies are sound-cleared by my exhausts). I assume that you've removed the rear compensating valve; that'll do more for your wet braking than any pad choice.

Incidentally to this, I responded to your 13" tyre post.

    cheers! Peter

Phil. I can get you Bendix from NZ which I think is very soft. Realised that from using them on the race car.

Thanks David. I'll be down in Geelong for the 'Geelong Revival' so that would save postage. I'll give you a call next week to arrange.
    Cheers phil.
