    I agree.

However it is his car and I guess he has the right to do what ever he wants to it, regardless of what we think Peter.

The green R8 looks great to me apart from the wheels. I see the same thing with many 60's and 70's cars fitted with that style of wheel. I guess it looks great if you were a kid who grew up with those "Hot Wheels" toys with the enormous silver wheels. It could be worse, it could loook like a transformer.

    Hello to all AF followers.

I have now completed my third race meeting of the ZA Historic Tour in my R8 and " knock on wood ", my car is still all in one piece, the engine is great and I have had great results thus far. The car is in it's development stage and I am currently working on a second engine ( R9 1397 cc ) which will have a cross flow Alpine/Gordini head fitted. Watch this space.
The prime purpose of this posting is to thank my ex- countryman, Frans Cronje' for all the unselfish help he has passed onto me during the preparation of my car - Thank You Frans.

    Regards,

    Arthur.

    Bowie,

That was "Jour G", the weekend the R12 Gordini was introduced to the public. One of Renaults biggest promotion exercises at the time. The number of cars and people was fantastic. Also known as "Gordinisimo !!"

    Ray

PS The R12 ramping over the R8 was a disaster, as they destroyed the front of the R12 when it landed.

Ah if only marques would throw parties like that once more!

    A different planet.

Still, I had a chuckle at the thought that on a night on wine one would forget where they parked their blue Gordini..

I want to see pictures of the smashed front end now

Still, Renault more than got their monies worth out of that photo and the publicity. Maybe writing off the car was factored in?

Look at that, it's even fitted with landing gear suitable for the snow conditions (the skid plate under car looks like a ski)

I'm sure some of you have seen these photos floating around Face Book. Not really sure what to think of this thing.
Maybe Renault is re-inventing the R8 just like the Alpine A110.

Well uhmm I don't know what to say, some of it looks great and some not so great. I don't think the front and the rear match.

I think it was a secret project Brettr was working on using some parts from his yellow Camaro and a few spare R8G bits.

I personally think someone has tried to morph an R8 into an Italian sports super car, but has failed in the process
