Default 4CV Engine Tin Needed in USA

Just got done running the engine outside the car. Thanks everyone for helping me get it out, and serviced.
Looks like I fixed both my oil and t/a leaks; with a couple of gaskets and seals. Got a new clutch/ pp/ to bearing/pilot bush, in there too.

It's really neat to have the whole package so easy to test run, including muffler.

I'm still trying to find a radiator shop not too far away, I'd like to have the rad cleaned, rodded, and tested before re uniting the power train with the car. Looks like it would be pretty hard, to get the rad out? Especially with fresh paint on the car!

Anyhow, I need the right hand side long skinny tin piece. Can take a picture of my part, that's missing a piece, if necessary.

Please let me know if you can help, I don't mind a piece that needs some straightening.

    Best, Alan

    Alan,

    Sounds good.

WHICH long skinny tin piece? I presume yours has the battery beside the engine on the right hand side?

    Cheers

    Hi Alan.

Still not sure what you need. What is "the right hand side long skinny tin piece"?

Do you mean the little piece of body trim under the doors that looks like a miniature running board? If so, they are available new from Melun Retro Passion in France. Melun Retro Passion : PiŤces et accessoires pour voitures anciennes

They are called BAS DE CAISSE and if you go the the general catalogue, then "carrosserie" then "accessoire de carrosserie" you'll find them. In stainless steel what's more.

If it is something else, please describe in more detail.

    Cheers

Used stuff shows up on eBay often.
There is a parts car in long beach, California owned by a guy named jackson biers. Google that guy. Why not? If you get him, tell him Wally the citroen guy told you to call.

Ah, a left hand engine splash tray, modified/butchered in the exhaust space area. The photo shows the half that fits onto the chassis rail and there is a matching one that bolts onto the block under two of the sump bolts. Your car should have five altogether, two on the exhaust side and three on the other side (one long one along the sump and two short ones either side of the battery. There should be a set of them around the radiator too, in cardboard.

Do you have the tinware for the heater that bolts around the radiator and provides a bit of shrouding for the fan?

    Good luck with it.

    Cheers

Daffyduck is right, they do show up on ebay sometimes. Web Pieces Retro in France have them sometimes too.

We have more parts cars than runners over here. The problem is keeping track of it all. At some point I will make it to a desktop machine and might be able to dig out some solid information.
