    Default R10S Steering Wheel

Does anyone have a R10S steering wheel surplus to their needs, if so please contact me, (placed a wanted advert too) Kevin has started me off, lost a good one when I sold my R10S replica a while ago. Want one for a new project.

I have one I'm willing to let go. Don't suppose you also need a 10s engine.

Sorry to join in, but if you have 10S bits, I am desperate for a set of original 10S rims (15" x 4.5") if perchance you might have them.
    Thanks Keith

That Adelaide car might have 4 or 5 of them Keith. There's a post here somewhere, quite recent, about a sad 10S about to be crushed or something like that. Maybe PM Simon?

If that doesn't work for some reason Roger, I've got one too. Not perfect but it has been in a dark cupboard for about 30 years.

I thought I had a set of 10s rims but it turns out the car had the incorrect wheels and they are all 15x4. They had been offered to someone anyway.

I guess if you can't find any you can cut the centers out and get them put on new rims.

Hi John, Tks will try for the one in Sydney, if does not work, will let you know, thanks for the offer. I did have a really nice one, but it went with the sale of the R10S replica . Regards, Roger

    Question:

Does the 10s wheel have the imitation timber work in the two centre spokes, or is that just the standard 10..?

The 10S wheel has the silver and black dots like one of the caravelle wheels that was discussed a while back as far as I know.
If you recall pics of the white R10 in SA on here recently that was at auction and people were commenting on. One of the reasons people felt that may have been a genuine 10S was styling clues visible like the steering wheel. You couldn't see the wheels though as the pics were too dark in that area.

The 8S/10S wheel is effectively the same as the normal 10, with the timber formica inserts on the 10 wheel replaced by faux drilled "plaluminium" spoke inserts. If you were tricky, some proper aluminium inserts could be created and glued in place, if originality isn't important it could be an alternative.

Cover it with clear epoxy and it would be a true replica wheel.

Here you go, for those who may not know the difference, as KB explains, faux aluminimum inserts, check out the pic attached. RCR10S Steering Wheel-r10s-steering-wheel.jpg

What do you need it for Ray?
I ask because the splines are different on the R8 to the R10 as far as I am aware.
I may have an r10 one, but not an R8 one.

I am after the large splined type, which may be R8, same type on the Gordini. I need to make a hub adaptor for the G. I think it is also the same as a Dauphine ??????

    Thanks,

    Hi Col

Can you get them commercially? I know Ernst and Sonja have one so will check with them when they get back from Targa NZ. I can get in and out of my A110 OK but as I'm getting more ancient, it is getting harder!!!

    Hi Anthony,

That is it, If you would cut the centre out (at sides of centre) and post it for me, not sure of the price of a small air bag, will find out tomorrow. And send me bank details (PM), as soon as I know the price of the air bag will send the funds and then you can send the parcel.

I'm not sure Barry, I bought the quick release from Revolution Race Gear and was given the R8 wheel centre, then bought a billet of aluminum to make the adapter.
