    Default Brake pads - R8, R10, Caravelle

Further to my thread last week on my poor brakes on the Caravelle.

I decided I would inspect the pads and see how they were bedding in. Also I now find out that I had zero end play (Manual says: should be .006" to .012") so now I have adjusted accordingly.

When I examined the pads on the drivers side I noticed that both pads had unused surfaces on them so I resurfaced them on glass with sand paper and they are now extremely flat and even. 100% contact with disc must happen now.

The pads I have had the letters in white on them ' RH ' what ever brand that might be. The pads are black in colour with tiny specs of brass/copper sprinkled through them. The pads on the drivers side measure 9.25mm and 8.90mm, still look really meaty to me.

As of tonight I have done only the drives side, tomorrow I'll do the rest, then go for a try out.

If anybody out there can shed light on the pads I would be very interested.

Couldn't be a QH on it could it - Quinton Hazel.

Never mind- a quick google search indicates they could be Road House, which appears to be a Spanish company. This makes sense as a lot of the parts that Ken and others buy comes from Spain,
