    Hi Chris,

These appear on ebay occasionally. Generally older ones, and try ebay France as well as ebay Australia with world-wide clicked.

When I find mine again (I've been away) I'll remember to check whether I have a spare in that size. That'll be a few weeks away.

    Good luck.

Thanks John, I'm always scanning E-Bay, so far no luck. Thanks for looking.

Pleasure Chris. I have checked my genuine Renault spanners and don't have that size myself. I have a 9X12 but only the one.

    Good luck with the hunt.

Would those spanners have been cast originally?.......or drop forged?

The "Renault" spanners go back a long way. I have one "Renault Freres" single open-end spanner, for example, that might be pre-WW1. So more than one method is possible over the years. But I don't know the answer to your question - hope someone does!

    Cheers

I think they were drop forged, they did come as standard with all Renault 8's 10's Florides and Caravelles.

I've never seen a photo of any Renault tool. It'd be interesting to see what they look like just in case I ever saw one at a swap meet somewhere. The reason I asked if they were drop forged or cast was that I was thinking along the lines of how they might be reproduced.

There are a number of different variations of tool kits depending on the model etc. As others have said, just keep an eye out on Ebay etc, it is a lot cheaper than going the repro route. Pics have been posted before, just try using the search function.

Here are mine. The big old one is cast I reckon, and the less old black ones might be too. The new ones (i.e. about R8-R12 I think) seem drop-forged.

Here are mine. The new ones (what you are chasing I think) are obvious. The old one has "Renault Freres" in a written script, a bit hard to make out. Pretty flimsy spanner actually, so for something like a grease cap or radiator cap I imagine.

Excellent photos, John. Thankyou for posting those! I did try the search function but didn't come up with anything.....probably something I was doing wrong, I'll bet. With Renault emblazened on them, they'll be hard to miss if I see them at a swap, so that's good!!
    Cheers

    Hi Chris

I have 2 spare 10-12 mm spanners but have never seen 8-10's. If these are what you need, we can set up a swap, maybe??

I really need an indicator switch, a dream maybe?

My parts book says that the 8-10 spanner exists, but it was only supplied with the earlier model Caravelles, up til number 13---
