Default R10 parts hard to find

Can't seem to find anyone selling R10 brake piston O-ring kits. Is overseas the only option -- Mecaparts, Jacques Lynn? Same for the rubber half-shaft bellows? Any suggestion would be welcome.

Hi Clive, how are you? Try these guys. I'd be very surprised if they can't help you. They advertise mail order.

The last few times, I've bought mine off Jacque.
But I did enquire locally a few months back and my local brake place reckoned they could get them, but they can only get the piston seal, not a kit. Even the sets sold by Jacques are not what you'd consider a full kit anymore - you don't get the split pins, copper washers and dust covers etc.

    Hi,

I got my R10 callipers rebuilt by ABS Moorabbin. Did the job well, but it cost a fortune for the O-rings and rubbers, which they got from O/S any way (somewhere in Spain from memory). It is possible to get the kits O/S.

    Regards

    Hi Chris,

Do you know of a supplier who has stock of these kits or do you have them yourself? I'm sure there will be a few more R8/R10 owners who would like a kit or four!

    Cheers

I see a pile of replies so will be brief. The folk listed in France (above and, in this reply, below) are easy to deal with and reliable.

The swing axle covers are available as a rule from Melun Retro Passion too, and from Mecaparts (as are the calliper seal kits).

I get brake hoses made locally in Perth, and this is OK across Australia from good brake places. The Lockheed hose fittings on the Renaults are not metric and you get good local quality with new flexible hose, better than "new old stock" in my view.

    You'll be fine.

    Cheers

When I did mine back in the 90's the parts were at that stage NLA, well very hard to get and made from unobtainium at the time.
We went to a hose and seal place and got all the aprts just as O=rings, in square or round section, whatever you wanted. Easy as and very cheap.

    Just for thought,

I thought my thread 22 August was an obvious statement that I have these parts available in Australia. What else can I say ?

You do have a point. It's a bit odd - I've never had a problem getting them in 40 years of ownership.
