Nice. Definitely the best colour for a fuego.

    Sounds like my ex.

I'll chose broken, because the rear wiper is neither ugly nor heavy.
That aside, it is hugely functional, so much so that I have relocated the switch to be at the top in the most ergonomic position.

Not sure but I think the Tx had no rear wiper.
If there was a tailgate with no hole, it would probably look Ok without a wiper, but a blanking plug just shouts "povo pack" in the same way that blanked out spottie holes in the bumper say the same thing on modern cars.
Even worse when there is an active switch on the dash with nothing connected to it.

Sounds like you need to get your gas struts re gassed.
Even on the coldest of days, struts should have enough power to hold tailgate up with the added weight of a spoiler, curtain and wiper.

I used my rear wiper all the time... Even wish the current Megane sedan had one - always liked that trend on Japanese domestic market sedans to have rear wipers. They're not just useful on hatchs and wagons.

I'm not a huge fan though and didn't work anyhow. Removing it was cheaper than re-gassing struts too ;-)
Hopefully when I'm finished you will hardly notice it was there.
It was also necessary IMO to get the next thing done being window tint. Just got to make the decision of darkness, legal or just a bit darker

We just bought struts from SupaCheap for Lachlan's Fuego - $2 more than a re-gas ($35) but a hell of a lot closer to home. Made a huge difference

New struts would probably have fixed your wiper - the power supply goes through the two struts with a some tricky relay design, and they tend to stop transmitting current when they get old.

Latest additions. Clear driving lamps and window tint. Hope to install remote locking unit on the weekend. Oh and I replaced those worn out tailgate struts too.

Mine didn't have the rear wiper, and I don't miss it at all, pretty useless and another rubber wiper to get old and useless, IMHO!

Could do with a new hard rubber plug for the wiper hole, if anyone knows of replacements!

Used the rear wiper on mine all the time... Particularly when I had a long drive to reverse out of on frosty mornings.

I used resin to plug mine. You can barely see it now with the tint on one side and a well placed New York Jets sticker on the other
