Looks to be situated a long way from Tenterfield in the photos. I wonder if he wants to sell the Twingo as well?
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

It certainly does look nice, providing it didn't spend too much time on salted roads.

No, I smelt a scam too.
Numberplates are wrong; village looks very European and the twingo (which as far as I know was never released in RHD) sits right beside it.
There was another photo that showed the front of the twingo - can you see if it is LHD or RHD?

If the photos were taken overseas before the car was privately imported fair enough, but why not either state that or use fresh photos?

I would treat with caution, but then I'm not in the market for a $17k R4 anyhow.

I would say pictures are southern France or north Spain. And the Twigo is LHD from the bottom picture in the first post.

I think the price is a bit steep.

The car looks to have a British style tax disc though (and is RHD obviously). I can't place the numbers late style but it could be an early British plate also.

That's a British rego plate. The E is for 1967 no less.

+1. I was sent the UK advert for the same car earlier this year. The carsales advert comprises a different set of pics of the same car, with a few lines of text in the advert pulled verbatim from the original UK advert.

So proper due diligence is required, if you can't see it or touch it, don't buy it.

The original UK advert for the car is really well done, and shows the car off to its best, with a good description of its history and what you are buying.

UK advert details and pics attached below.....

I was about to send $15k to some really nice guy on an offshore oil rig to his nominated Western Union account, so what your saying is I shouldn't trust him?
    cheers,

I don't think it is a scam. I put two and two together and believe the vendor (David) is David Parkinson who has a property in Tenterfield and has in the past imported many 2CV's from England and now has a R4 for sale. Just ring him!
