Many years ago I worked with a Spanish formworking crew which included 2 Catalans, their lunch usually consisted of a slab of bread, some sausage meat with a round of olives and a can of beer to wash it all down. Cutlery was limited to a sharp knife.

Interestingly the Catalans would not sit with the Spanish during lunch..

These Coupe's are sooo cute but it turns out they are rare as hens teeth going by the build numbers

I'm still desirous of the fourgonnette version if anyone finds one in Oz.

Very nice. I wonder how many of the 80 have survived?

I imagine only a handful would have survived John. Can you imagine if a vehicle locator device existed? I stopped counting cars I've owned at around the 60 mark. Wish I could see where they all ended up, although it may be upsetting too.

Be carefull G, asking for a Fourgonnette. One might turn up then you are committed to another project. Where are you going to store it?

I note that the 4cv on the left has a set of chrome trim rings on spider wheels. I can't remember what happened to them, but I had a set in about 1967..... Bugger.

That Fourgonnette is a real van, without rear windows. I wonder what they competed with back then? I had a schoolteacher who drove an A30 van and I've never seen another. There were A40 vans, and I think the RAA in South Australia had some. Horrible things I imagine, especially in summer.

    Nice historic photo....

The above photo gracefully appeared in a 1956 French auto magazine which featured the presence of French cars in Australia back in the day, sent to me by a fellow Fregate owner from Toulon..

You wouldn't even get any old Renault within 100 metres of our place. Mine are threatened with the crusher on a regular basis. I would say the patio is definately out.

At work we had a Vanguard van. Wooden frame. It was best to have a passenger to hold the left hand door closed as it often flew open. There was also a Dodge and an International, big vehicles though. Then there were Thames, Morris Minor and Bedfords. We made extra seats out of wooden boards so the Dodge would carry more passengers than the three across the front seat.

Here's another little gem I wonder if spider wheels would fit and what they'd look like on it. I think they might fit.
