Love that shed floor. Shearers shed or older factory?
Polished up with a few polished old french cars would be cool.

An old 1940s country workshop. I'll be moving her into my shed in Ballarat, which is 1950s. Seems appropriate.

My 1950 4CV (R1062) in a party frock for the Mille Miglia display at Perth's Italian Car Day on 5 November. The second photo is Jean Redele finishing first in class in the 1954 event in a factory ('usines') R1063.

For those who don't know, the car numbers reflect the starting time.

I'm hoping for a good day!

    Cheers

Here we are at the Italian Car Day, with a C-type Jaguar for company. They moved the Jag later, I think because the 4CV was so spectacular and detracted from the planned effect of the C-type. They had to put it in the centre of the display. ROFL

Seriously, all credit to the Rotary club for such a great Italian Car Day here in Perth. There was a wonderful range of cars that are rarely seen, not least speaking of some lovely Lancias, Alfa Romeos and Fiats and a (now) all too rare Alfasud.

I was the sole flier of the French Flag. I should have taken one, but will be better prepared if there is another such event.

Nice one John. It sure had a lot of questions. First was why on a Italian car day, till it was explained the Milli Miglia connection. And it really looked the part.

And a big thank you to Ray and his son for (a) suggesting putting numbers on the car, (b) making them so authentically and (c) fitting them so well!

And the "ACQUA" label from the Redele car.....

Great day. I will offer to write them a short explanation of the Mille Miglia next time, so at least people know what it was!

    Cheers

    Johnno,
The busiest bloke at the start of the Mille Miglia would have been the free hand signwriter doing the start numbering minutes before the off !

Interesting, isn't it. We reckoned the Renault team gave the apprentice a 2" brush and a pot of white paint. Moss' MB 722 was a tad more professional!!

In that case, shouldn't the paint have tell tale windswept look, like the taxi that was painted at 2am so owner wouldnt know it was dinged.

The car (4CV) looks great John! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it down....
