It looks like it may be the old Clem Minge Dauphine G (SA Rego UYR 926) that was sold back in 2001.

The thing that I don't get though, is why fit a pod/Lynx type filter on a car when all it is going to be sucking in is the hot air from over the exhaust, it's seen all too often. The original Dauphine oil bath filter isn't that hard to maintain.

    Just magnificent !!

Ok, so now I need about $30k for the R8G coming up for sale and $21k for this mint Dauph! It might render me homeless and divorced, but I think I need both of them

Maybe they were just going for some induction noise with that sports air cleaner. I remember my old Dauphine G losing power and dying after I did some shopping once. It was the air intake trying to eat a shopping bag
    cheers,

    John

It looks lovely. However, the sales blurb says "It has been finished to exact specifications of the sports model the ‘Gordini’". I would read that as meaning it is a replica, not an original Gordini. Does anyone know if it is an original Gordini?

The ID plates for an R1091 are correct for a Dauphine Gordini, and it is the later body type (relative for Australia) as used on the Australian assembled Dauphine G as well. Infact a standard R1090 Dauphine of that period would be rarer than a Dauphine Gordini.

Lovely car. Interesting that they are starting to go for real money.

Maybe an R1130 might be worth a bit for my grandson!!
