I saw one similar to that some time ago. A guy on here bought it and fully restored it. Looks awesome now in blue with cream interior.

I'm pretty sure you took this while we were cruising around Bathurst oblivious to the fact that we were supposed to be at a tribal lunch.

I wonder whether any other Fregate has ever run around Mount Panorama? Wonderful stuff.

Well if no one else wants to claim the honour I'll take it. There were a few other accomplices there on the day.

Hmmm, Here's a write up I haven't seen before with English and French text plus many detailed pictures, I have saved it to PDF in case the link disappears and will see if I can figure out how to attach it.

    Nice photos

Come to think of it, I doubt another Alfa-Romeo Dauphine would have been there before either!

Thanks for that. Quite a VW Karmann-Ghia look about it from that angle, isn't there?

I have to say, I'm not overly in love with the color.

It looks kind of "out of place."

Agree completely regarding the colour. It isn't suitable, at least in my eyes.

No definitely not a period colour at all and takes away from the overall look of the car.

A colour like that is okay with me if there have been a number of mods done to the car but if you're going to keep an old classic authentic, I truly believe the colour should match the batch as it were

It's a difficult area, ownership being ownership. I reckon if you modify the car greatly, starting with some of the wheels we see on awful (my view) VW and UK Ford 'restorations' in Perth, you might as well go the whole hog with colour. Equally, if you really mod it, colour is part of it.

My 4cv is a hybrid, in that it is pretty original but isn't an original colour. However, the colour is in my view close to being in keeping with its age and it succeeded in satisfying the other family stakeholders!
