Default R12 - anyone remember this old girl?

This car belonged to an AFer living in Perth. It was sold to a chap up here in Gero and then again to a young lass, also living here. I would like to get in touch with the AFer who did the work on it originally.

It is the second of 3 possibly 4 R12s that'll be making the 2015 Outback Odyssey all things (lives) going to plan.

It is a 1975 1177 with an 810-06 motor. I'm assuming it was pulled from an automatic. It runs well on the road although there are a few oddities that need to be addressed.

Can someone tell me the differences between the 06 and 05 motors - I'm guessing the torque figures, cam grind and carby jetting are the main differences. Anything else?

Still looking for another R12, some doors and R16 (14") wheels if anyone out there can help.

    All the best

I think Waynerenault (wayne vernon I think his name is), may have built that car for his wife - or at least painted it?
wayne is the fellow who did the infamous metallic green R8 that Jodiek most recently owned, until sold recently as a project.

There were photos of it here that may confirm my comments on the R12.

    What ever happened to R8WAYNERENAULT?
I liked his wild ideas, even the 'infamous' R8!

I think he cleaned out all his reno stuff as he got hold of a genuine xt-xr GT falcon and decided one project was enough

    Default Reno nuts never die

Hey you lot I have gone nowhere, and yes this 12 was mine and was a great car. I do have an XT GT project as well as my new Henry attached.
I never forget the Reno's and will start again when I head to Collie to live.
Currently I am reno-less but always looking for that special project.
If there are any R8's or Dauphines that need that touch of difference then let me know.
I have been toying at the idea of a 12 with a small block 8, rear wheel drive, it can be done, my mate built a Vauxhall Viva with a Hemi

I owned a '55 for a year or three. Had a nice custom built canopy. Wish I'd kept it!

    Hi Wayne

Your old R12 is being prepared for one of our Outback Adventures.

Has some rust in the doors now and the usual gremlins. Still remains registered and after a weekend's work it'll be just like a bought one.

A couple of questions, if I may:

The front springs appear non-standard and sit the car up good and high. Do you know what springs or mods were done to achieve this? We would like to find some more.

Out of interest as it you who changed it from being an auto to a manual?

    All the best

    Hi P

I recall I bought this car unlicenced and it was as is. I did not change springs or auto, I did get it going and up to speed to pass the pits
I think I have the previous owners details at home, I will send to you if I can find

What a beauty Henry is! What's nestled under the bonnet Wayne? A healthy Windsor perhaps ?
    cheers,
