    Default Happy and Sad news

The R10 will be packed in a container this weekend with all household stuff for a move to Perth, yes WA. We have decided to move closer to the kids and grandkids, that is the good news.
The bad news is we'll have to say goodbye to very very dear friends.
I cant say thank you enough to Frans and Ross who were always willing to assist with anything that was thrown their way. Also to all the other Renault mates met in NZ the last 12 years
Frans thank you for you assistance with the Megajolt installation and everything else.
Ross thank you for the ally welding required and whatever was necessary to keep the R10 going.
And above all for just being good mates and friends for life.

Looking foward to roam the streets of Perth and make new friends, thanks in advance Ray.

You have chosen the right city to live in!

Be sure to keep an eye on the newly incorporated French and Fantastic Automobile Club.

    www.frenchandfantastic.com.au

We already have many owners of older Renaults joining up including another Renault currently on its way from NZ, a 4CV.

Best of luck with the move.

    Cheers,

    Justin.

    When do you arrive?

Lucky you didn't tell us in time for us to ask you to bring more things than you'd imagine!! You'll have seen the recent stash of new parts that emerged in Christchurch!

Anyway, a huge welcome to you and yours. PM us when you are here, if you need advice, help or any of those things. Be good to meet you. And another rear-engined Renault of course!

Best of luck with the move etc etc.

    Harry and family,
Best of luck with the big move and I hope you settle in well, in Perth.
I'd love to go there too, but unfortunately unable to, for various reasons.

    Regards,
    Henry

    Harry,
Its been a pleasure and thank you for your assistance in all we did and achieved. The days at the track and at shows in the rain and then again in hot as hell sunshine will always be remembered. The Motorkhanas in S Africa, the broken gearboxes, the Durban Dashes,
the Noggins and Natters. It is like a phase that is closing down. I am sad but you have to do what you have to do and I hope it works out like you have planned.

I am sure that the Aussies will look after you. We do have have a special interest amongst us that makes us a family.

Don't let them take you on a swimming trip, there are sharks, and Stingrays (Steve Irwin). Don't let them take you into the bush, there are poisonous snakes. Don't let them take you to the NT, there are crocs. Be careful of angry Natives. Watch out for man eating Koalas, not to mention the Dingos. Watch out for cyclones and then the scorching desert. ;-)

Best wishes again and we will stay in contact.

    Frans

He forgot to mention wild Cassawaries, deadly spiders, angry Roos, feral Camels, Peugeot drivers, Tasmanian devils, Box jellyfish, deranged outback murderers, swooping Magpies and frill necked lizards.

    Welcome to Australia Harry.
Every day when I wake up I reach up in the darkness with my eyes shut and if I cannot feel anything that resembles a wooden lid I know it will be a good day. No lid today.

We did not meet as frequently as I had hoped, but you will be sorely missed in NZ. Thank goodness I did not make the move to Tuakau now that you have almost departed. You did try to persuade me that it was a good option, and now you are buggaring off. Good luck, of course having been an imigrant to NZ made a big difference in being allowed into the West Island, otherwise they would never have accepted you.

You forgot the spiders. We have some great poisonous spiders too. For swimming there are rips too, that carry you away. Snakes are in the suburbs, not just in the bush (don't live near lakes is my advice). Then there are floods, hailstorms and, worst of all, bogans in Holden and Falcon utes.

Anyway, get in touch when you've arrived in God's Own.

I'll delete the bogan for you!!

But not for the unlicensed driver in the Falcon ute with a bull bar who tee-boned me in November.

All is fixed now I'm glad to report.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for all the kind words Frans and all the welcomes from everybody on AF, were are pretty busy getting the container packed as it will be uplifted on Tuesday, thanks to the holiday on Monday.

John thanks for the offer but at this point in time one Renault is enough to keep me busy thanks.

For those who wanted to know, we are firsts going to South Africa for 3 weeks to see the other Son his wife and the 2 grandkids then back to Peth.
We were told the container would take about 6 weeks to get to Perth as it goes via Sydney and another city on route to Perth.
