Default Laguna 95 what gearbox does it have?

Hi, i have been offered a cheap Laguna, 1995 which has problems with its auto box, but has only done 130k. I am not familiar with that model and would like to know what model gearbox it has. It is not a V6 engine, so i guess it is a 2 l. Does the same auto occur in any Peugeots or Citroens of the same vintage?
    thanks, Erik

This is actually a dreadful VW/Audi transmission. Easy to repair.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a previous thread on these that i can read up on?

    Otherwise:
    What is dreadful about them?
What is the usual repair that is required?

    Thanks, Erik

Nothing is dreadful about them for a 90 transmission. They run too hot especially if the cooling system wasn't kept pristene. Some of them did have problems with the 1-3 forward drum splitting. Manuel transmissions in Melbourne welded them but i bought one from England. It is a work of art and will never split.
