    Default 2001 Scenic Clutch

    Hi:
I have just acquired a Scenic. I noticed that there was clutch noise on purchasing the vehicle and a short pick up so I factored in a new clutch. When I looked at it today I noticed that when I pulled the clutch lever back the dragging sound stopped. I also found that the lever itself was very floppy. I'm guessing that the thrust bearing is cactus. The car drives okay and changes gear well. Should the lever be floppy or should it spring back into place? When I put a new clutch kit in will I need to do something with the lever? Should there be a return spring on it?

    Thanks
    Geoff

Levers are floppy anyway, especially if the auto adjuster on the cable is not doing its thing.

You probably just need a new cable :-)

Thanks Haakon I'll put on a new cable and see what happens.
