    Default Windscreeen availability

    Hi there.

Since the R8 is having reconstructive surgery, followed by paint, it might be a good time to put in a new windscreen.

The current windscreen is laminated and found in Horsham at a Mercedes dealer in about 1978 when we broke yet another toughened screen in Victoria (loose stones graded over the bitumen...).

Has anyone found and bought one recently? I know or think that there were posts a year or so back, but recent information is what I seek. Mecaparts have lightweight laminated ones, but even I shudder to think of freight costs.

    Any advice out there please?

I procured a new Floride windscreen 3 years ago from Obriens Glass, sure I just got lucky but it would be worth contacting them for an r8 one.
Every day when I wake up I reach up in the darkness with my eyes shut and if I cannot feel anything that resembles a wooden lid I know it will be a good day. No lid today.

Hi there - not yet. Haven't had much chance in grand priorities of things.

Thanks for the interest and I'll post when I've sorted more info. Happily the screen isn't urgent.

I have a set of front and rear R10 glass sitting in my garage. If it's what you need and you can find a place in Adelaide that will do moulds from them I'm happy to drop them off to have the work done.

Thanks for that. I've screens, just looking around to see if a replacement would pop out of the woodwork.

    Appreciate the offer.

    Cheers
