    Default Gordini DVR380

Is this a known car? Single headlight. A few photos have shown up on my other favourite forum racing at Oran Park.

I have a BW photo of that car with a script on the back which says- "D. Froger Renault R8 Gordini 1966" It also has the following codes- 66018 which I think refers to photo 18 taken in 1966 and another being- B11 466-272. Looks like its on Mountain Straight at Bathurst to me. Someone might be able to add more or correct info.

The photo must be a reprint as it has inkjet coding on it which didn't come into being for quite some after this photo would have been taken. The photo paper branding looks modern also.

I seem to recall there was a story about an 1134 running in "the great race" - would it have been called the Gallagher or Armstrong 500 back then; or the first of the Hardie's?

I know it is a reprint on modern paper, but it has had the photographers info put back on the reverse side which might give someone with a photographic background an insight into what where and when.
I googled D. Froger and came up with a French racing driver in Brazil. As the photo looks like Mountain Straight to me I googled Bathurst entry lists which gave the following results- 1964- 6X R8's, 1965- 1X R8, 1966-1X R8, 1967- 1X R8, 1968- Nil, 1969- 1X R16TS and 1X R10, then nothing until 1973- 1X R8G which we know was the yellow R1135. Is the photo taken at Bathurst? Not sure, but there is no D. froger on the entry lists.
Over to anyone with any other ideas.

my other thought given the wooden guard rails was could it have been Catalina, but I can't recall seeing so much rolling hills in the background from any angle at Catalina. It was not that far from the centre of town and more "wooded" scenery from my memory.

The number plates appear to be NSW so I am thinking it would be in that state.
Not enough trees for Silverdale and not like Amaroo either. Could it be a club event hill climb on mountain Straight at Bathurst? They run them up the straight as they are this weekend as well as up the Esses. I might show the photo to one of the older Bathurst Club members on the weekend and see if it can be identified.
