    Default Dauphine Cable help

    Hi Guys,

I've come across my first stumbling block. How do I get this cable out. Of course the manual is brilliant in it's advice and says "remove cable" but doesn't say how to get the bloody thing off. While I'm at it I've no idea on the one underneath either.
I'm dropping the whole rear end out.

    Cheers....Paul

There is a law against doing more than 100kmh...there's no law on how fast you get to 100kmh!!!

    Paul,
Knock the shiny part a few mm back. It has little splines that cuts into the bracket. Then you can pull it back and slide the cable out where the slot in the bracket is.

    That's right.

The outer cable housing pushes into the bracket. The housing has a smaller diameter section that slides sideways from the bracket when it is pushed back far enough for the fine "splined" bit to be clear of that bracket. Knock it back and it will be obvious.

Same for the clutch cable beside it is it not?
