Cool, your collection of ocean liners is almost complete.

I think there are a few 607's on Ebay at the moment should you wish to bookend the collection...

Whoah and it even has the "optional" cloth interior...

Congratulations on your purchase of a land yacht. May you have many happy days and nights at sea.

    First impressions:

605 rides well... real well. I ve only driven it sedately as one of the engine mounts is suspect... but from my short drive I can report she steers with a certain lightness and directness thats rare to find in modern cars... a touch of jag even. Ride is supple and well tuned. She times her rebound nicely and settles down gently under braking... very elegant. Power-wise she isnt "all that" but there is enough there for a civilized driver... gear changes are smooth and free of any jerkiness...definitely streets ahead of my wifes honda, regardless that its a generation ahead. Interior is very comfortable and spacious although the 80s design roots show... A black leather interior would look more modern but less comfortable... Seats are superb...
If my E class had this ride and these seats I think I d never sell it... Whats the 05 lacking... not much...
It feels solid... well made considering the age. Gaps are even and the styling is elegant and nicely balanced... In fact the interior is very conservative compared to the exterior which is quite tough from certain angles... God how I d love to flare those rear arches even more... ofcourse I wont but they are begging for it...

You need a combination of both.... Start with " CX2500 ", then add " GTi Turbo II ".... followed by "Prestige" and you have pretty much the ultimate car

The 605 is one of a kind.

One day when I win lotto I'll get a 605 and pay someone to chuck a nice HDi motor under the hood

is that the 605 that was on ebay?

Looked rather tempting if I was in the same situation about a month ago ie one less car, I wouldn't have contemplated it!

Congrats! Yours looks newer than mine. An amazing car to drive on long distance. The 12v PRV inside the engine bay can be so smooth on revving. Infact, on high speed, you wont hear any sound from the engine bay, even the gear winning, all will be gone. I use it daily. In fact, am about to drive off with it now as am closing work for the day.

    A damn PRV powered Lion!

    Ikenna.

So it's not young 4 old pug's? His is also a Series I with cloth interior...

Certainly looks better cared for than my Series II - I presume it's been kept out of the sun.

How many km has it done? Mine is now up to 130,000 km (73,000 when I bought it 3 years ago) - I mostly use it for travelling up to Tenterfield (400km round trip). It is very reliable - changed brake pads & spark plugs when I got it, and had to replace the air horn. In short I don't tinker with it, I just drive it

When my youngest son (early 20's, knows little about Pugs) first saw it he said "Dad why is there an aircraft carrier in the garage"

    Cheers

    Alec
