    Default 504 Coupe windscreen

Do any of you fine folk know if windscreens for 504 Coupes are still available, and if so, any idea of the cost, please?

I only ask because.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2210275652...=p5197.c0.m619 is within my price range and I'm almost tempted.

Though if it goes much beyond a fiver I'm out.

Thanos (probably wouldn't be a stretch to say the worldwide expert on Coupes?) says not.

I bought a winscreen in London in the 80/s and it was made by Royal Daulton .Maybe they still have some . I looked on howmanyleft.net.uk ,and they say there are no 504 coupes left in uk and only 8 cabriolets .I assume that they only count cars sold new in Uk because i think there many more than that ,probably imported s/h

OOooo that's very pretty! Buy it, I'm sure a windscreen will come up sooner or later. You'll be kicking yourself later if you don't.

No doubt the underbody isn't quite as flash as the top, but a man of your talents with a welder will make short work of it.

    Just lose those horrible hubcaps!

I believe Pilkington in UK have the mould but have to get authorization from France first ,
try Peter Tuefel he will know where they are available ( on Lowendoc website )

504 coupe screens were on De Franzose site a while ago not checked recently

    good luck

Sneak a screen into your suitcase and you've got a deal.

Far as I know the figures are based on cars registered with the DVLA. I've met the owner of one 504 coupe, and he told me of another. The "other" was written-off by the owner's wife apparently.
So why at least one doesn't show up in the figures is odd.

I know of two coupes in the UK (one of them a rally car) and one more cabriolet is heading there (my friend sold his to a UK buyer).

Windscreens are nearly impossible to find. My rally car developed a crack on the upper right side after a one-wheel landing and I have been actively looking for a replacement, but no joy so far.

I know the price is tempting, but the restoration cost will be massive. Decent examples sell in France for around 6,000 euro and I am certain it would cost much more to bring the ebay coupe to a respectable state.

Does any one know if windscreens are the same for coupes and cabs ? They look the sa.me . There must be second hand ones around specially across the channel someone like Kurt Orbie in Belgium must have dismantled a lot of rusty cars

Try Ralph Moor at Autoglass in Sydney specialises in rare screens,a nice helpful bloke,
he found me a 404 cabriolet screen (at a price)
he was he who told me Pilkingtons UK have a 404 coupe mould, but needed OK from France!!

Moran Glass in Qld may have a mould , they do for other small demand screens

    good luck

I'd be more worried about doing up the motor although parts for that could be equally unobtanium so it could end up being a spare parts car.

So the way to go is get it really cheap and then get a left hand drive one that's trash from France and I've seen a few on French Ebay, but with good motor and screen. Then combine to make excellent UK Coupe.
And make a fortune selling what's left of the other unobtanium.
